The Anatomy of a Search

You need a room,

darkness,

an open window.

And silence.

So much silence

that you can hear the noise within yourself.

The Anatomy of a Search

Sit before your own life

as before a sea that has withdrawn.

Look at the traces.

Each step.

Each choice.

Each word cast into the world

and each word that remained captive within you.

Ask yourself why.

Why you moved forward

when the road promised nothing.

Why you ran.

Why you stopped.

Why certain glances still follow you

after entire years,

while others vanished

the same day you met them.

· · ·

Seek the reason behind each emotion.

Not the occasion.

The source.

That unseen place

from which everything begins.

The Anatomy of a Search

Listen to the silence.

Beneath it is (...)

Not one of absence,

but one of searching.

You have carried it with you since birth.

Because of it you love.
Because of it you create.
Because of it you leave.
Because of it you return.

You think you are running toward things,

but most often you are running toward the shape you try to give to that (...)

· · ·

No one can explain it to you.

No book.

No teacher.

No victory.

You must descend into it alone.

The Anatomy of a Search

Until it no longer seems an abyss,

but a mirror.

And perhaps then you will understand:
that you were never searching for an answer.
But for the one who asks the question.

And at the end of all roads,

after all victories and all losses,

you will find the same person

waiting for you in silence,

yourself.
