THE STORY
Light as

Alexandru Vlad was born in Rupea, with the mountains on the horizon and the sky close by. He grew up with two obsessions that at first glance seem opposite — the logic of mathematics and the magic of images. He studied both simultaneously: a degree in Management and one in Cinematography at Babeș-Bolyai University, because no story is complete without the structure that holds it together.
The film Another Day of Mankind took him to San Francisco and the Gopo Awards. We Fly Again brought him his second UCIN prize. But perhaps the most important film he makes daily is the one in which dozens of teenagers at the Children's Palace Cluj discover they have something to say — and that there is a frame where their voice matters.
In 2016, between a film award and a teaching position, he also found time to publish a volume of poetry — "The Echo of the Sea". Because some things cannot be said in a frame. They need verse.
